The Varied Lives of eCoddles
An eCoddle Cavalcade

We love our 100% cotton flannel eCoddle prototypes - so soft - but we don't love the way the fabric pilled and looked a bit dirty, even though it wasn't. So these are hanging out in prototype village with all the other pioneers.

I love how these two quietly work together to encourage a hefty library book to recline stably and securely - while letting me turn pages easily. Note that the Red Linen eCoddle here is an over-sized prototype - see the safety pin in the next picture.

I mean, eCoddles don't even advertise themselves as holders for physical books, but look what they can do. In this case, it took two. But, no offense to Googly-Eyed Banana's great work and enjoyable presence, and wonderful squashability and pattability, but the oversized prototype Red Linen eCoddle could probably have done the bookholding without GEB, together with perhaps a suitably sized rock. Although do not underestimate how mighty a standard-sized eCoddle can be!
Some Early Prototypes…
…really shook things up. This was back in the days when eCoddles were still called eLumps! Many of these variations were ruled out as we focused on being 100% natural — no elastic – and 100% comfortable – no buttons or zippers. No compromises. And there was no need for being unnatural or uncomfortable! You can do amazing, thoroughly satisfying things with eCoddles, with natural materials and forms, with strings and knots and loops.
